Some Sad Days For Our Mighty N, I Think

It's been a rough couple of days for our Mighty N recently, The Chronicle has some follow up on that N/KT crash that happened on Saturday (ironically the day I was out of town). It's still not clear exactly how this happened, so it will be interesting to see what the final outcome of any investigation is. At least no one was killed like the accident on Boston's MBTA system.

This morning I was checking out the Twitterstream and Loyal Reader Eve reported that at about 930 this morning no less than 5 N Judah cars were bottled up at the end of the line. I think that's setting a new record for LRV Rodeo at Ocean Beach.

There was a little good news, of sorts for the site - I got a mention in the Sunday Chronicle which was kinda nice. Also, several other interesting blogs you may or may not have caught in our Links of Interest feature got a nice mention too. Woo hoo!

Congratulations on your mention in the Chronicle!

I was out walking with my kid this morning, and they are doing track work at 32nd and Judah. Exciting for a boy, but I don't know if that had anything to do with the delay, though.

I just heard about the crash. That's awful! Looks like I picked a good day to take BART to the east bay and watch Beckham play.

Found some pics here. Wow!

I can't say I'm surprised about the crash. The muni drivers driving skill have plummeted over the past few years.

Just today I was riding the N inbound and the driver took both turns at 9th ave so fast it nearly threw everyone to the other side of the car - it certainly threw our belongings half-way across. Those were some seriously painful Gs we were enduring. I thought the train was going to tip over, I could hear the wheels groaning against the outside tracks. There's absolutely no excuse for that.
